Josh Babarinde MP Visits Lotus Labels in Eastbourne to Celebrate Local Manufacturing Success
Eastbourne, 10th January 2025 – Josh Babarinde, Member of Parliament for Eastbourne, today visited Lotus Labels, a leading label and carton manufacturing business located in the heart of the town, to learn more about the company’s impressive operations and its significant contribution to both the local economy and global markets.
During his visit, the MP had the opportunity to tour the facility and meet with the team behind Lotus Labels, a company that has established itself as a key player in the label and packaging industry, serving a diverse client base that spans both local businesses and global brands.
“I was astonished to hear that this modest factory produces more than 100 million labels each year, for a range of local and global brands,” said Josh Babarinde. “Their meticulous attention to detail and refusal to cut corners has earned them a reputation for helping to produce some of the highest quality products. It’s incredible to see such a small, dedicated team having such a big impact both here in Eastbourne and internationally. ”
The visit, which was part of Babarinde’s ongoing efforts to engage with businesses across Eastbourne and better understand the local economy, highlighted the vital role that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play in driving innovation and supporting job creation. Lotus Labels, established over 40 years ago, is a prime example of this, offering highly customised labelling solutions for a wide array of industries including food and beverage, healthcare, cosmetics, and consumer goods.
“We are proud of the work we do here at Lotus Labels,” said Andreas Schillinger, Managing Director of Lotus Labels. “Our goal has always been to deliver high-quality products and to operate with integrity and a commitment to sustainability. We believe in providing a personalised service that allows us to work closely with each client to create labels and packaging that represent their brand in the best possible way. Having Josh Babarinde visit and recognize the impact of our work is a huge honour for us.”
Lotus Labels prides itself on its investment in state-of-the-art technology and its dedication to sustainable practices. The company has made significant strides in recent years to reduce its environmental footprint by implementing more energy-efficient processes and sourcing sustainable materials. These efforts have helped Lotus Labels gain a competitive edge in an industry increasingly focused on environmental responsibility.
Eastbourne, well-known as a popular seaside destination, has long been a hub for innovation and manufacturing, and the visit to Lotus Labels underscores the importance of supporting local businesses that contribute to the town’s economic growth and reputation.
The MP’s visit also discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the label and packaging industry, focusing on the need for continued innovation and the importance of maintaining high standards in a competitive marketplace.
Whilst Lotus Labels continues to expand its operations, the company remains committed to its core values of quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. The business is actively looking to grow its workforce and is excited about the potential for further growth in both domestic and international markets.
